We have been going for just over 2 years now, and over that time, we have loved interacting with all of you from all over the world. It has been awesome to be a part of your journey as a Christian!

We have received many questions regarding what we believe at Love Church. People often ask if we are aligned with certain sects like Messianic Judaism, Pentecostal, Baptist, etc.

In addition, people often ask us about our views on Law, Grace, Justice, and epecially now, the end times (Eschatology). It takes time to flesh all these topics and ideas out since the Bible is so vast, and so forming a fully fledged doctrine is something that takes time. We want to be clear on our stance on certain topics, and so after some prayer and guidance, we have decided to put all this info in our newly revamped About Page.

We will still keep our original intro, but now we have expanded it to include more in depth topics, including FAQs on stances on the Bible we hold. So now, at one glance, you can see our core values and beliefs.

With that said, I will include our new 'About Page' below. Have fun reading it! If there are any questions, please reach out to us via the contact form.

Thank you for your continued support. God Bless.

What We Are About

Love Church was founded in 2023 by us, Grant & Jade. We have been married since 2021, and we have been on a mission together ever since. The mission behind creating this site was to dive deeper into the Word and not shy away from topics that Christian's deemed 'too controversial'. Here, we talk about topics like Israel, Justice, Torah, and Money.

Another reason we started this ministry is that we noticed that many Christians follow a doctrine far away from what the Scripture says. Our goal is to clarify and realign the Word for our readers. We show how many scriptures have been taken out of context and mistranslated. We solve this by:

  • Diving deep into both the Old and New Testaments to see if we can find the true (and sometimes hidden) meaning.
  • Translating the Bible into its original languages - Hebrew, Greek & Aramaic.
  • Taking a balanced approach to Scripture and letting the Word speak for itself. We do this by letting scripture interpret scripture, and looking at the Jewish roots of our faith.

Often, following God means unlearning a lot of traditions and teachings from 'Big Church'.

Teachings

You can find our collection of teachings throughout the site. This is our main form of content, and they are categorized according to the tabs at the top.

Core Values & FAQs

What Sect / Type of Christianity Do We Belong To?

We are firmly non-denominational Bible-believing Christians. The Bible is the Word of God and represents the whole truth to us. We believe in a balanced view of Grace, Mercy & Justice and look to Jesus as our only way to be saved. We do not identify with any particular sect, as they all, to some extent, contain an unbalanced view of God's Word.

We fully agree with the Nicene Creed.

How Do We Perceive God?

We believe in the God of the Bible, who is one God, but manifested in three persons (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). All three persons make up one. Kind of like an apple has a core, skin and flesh, but it is still an apple.

Deu 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that testify

How Do We Perceive Jesus?

We believe Jesus Christ, or more accurately, Yeshua Hamashiach, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a Virgin. He is fully God and fully man. He gave up His eternal glory to be on Earth with us and to die as a sacrificial lamb for humanity to destroy the devil's work:

1Jo 3:8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

Jesus was crucified on the cross, where He died, and then rose again on the third day, victorious over death. We believe He is the only way to the Father, and no amount of works or following the Law of Moses can give you salvation.

How to Obtain Salvation

We teach a lot on the Law of God and how it should be used as your guideline to live. However, we believe there is only one way to be saved, and that is through Jesus Christ. We believe salvation is a gift from God, and is never dependent on religious works or following the Law. We receive salvation when we:

    • Have a personal faith in Jesus Christ (confess Him as God, saviour, and believe in His resurrection)
    • Repent from the sin that Jesus redeemed us from.

We believe in continued transformation through worship & obedience after salvation, and that is where we emphasize following the Law that God set out, as this is the way Jesus, Paul, Peter, the other apostles, and Israel lived. This is the way to live a Holy life. We also believe that if you are truly saved, God will begin the process of chastening. (Becoming more like Him), and you will naturally begin to live according to the Law. The first change you should see is the most important thing - walk more in LOVE, as this is the basis of the Law.

Are We Supposed To Follow the Entire Law or Just the 10 Commandments?

The Law was given to the Israelites as a way to live Godly. As 1 John points out, the Law is what identifies sin in our lives. This is the purpose of it.

It is impossible for humans to follow the Law, as we are sinful by nature. We believe this was always the intention of the Law - to show we need a saviour! Jesus then redeemed us from these curses of the Law (Stated in Deut 28), but we believe the Church has misinterpreted this to teach the Law is no longer valid and by extension, hyper grace - i.e., You can do what you want as you are no longer under a rule/law book. (E.g. Just because 'Do not sleep with your relative' was under the Law of Moses, and now we are under a New Covenant, does not change the fact that this is still a sin. If you go by the hyper grace theology, which only regards Jesus' two 'new' commands of loving God and loving your neighbour, then this kind of loophole can develop).

The Law does not bring salvation - Only Jesus does. And so if you fail to follow the Law, you are OK! You are still saved by grace through faith. However, we believe that we should still attempt to live Godly lives, and God has shown us that to live Godly, you must live by His Word. It is a form of worship & obedience. Ultimately, if you want to become like Jesus, you have to ask, 'What did He follow?'

As for the 600+ rules - No, it is not possible to follow all. Some are only for Levites (e.g., temple worship, certain tithes), and do not apply at all to Gentiles grafted into Israel (E.g. Us). There are laws for farmers only. There are laws for government officials only.

Anything that revolves around sacrificing & temple things is not applicable (Jesus sacrifice covers us for eternity, God's presence is with us instead of in a Temple). The rest, you should try to follow! For example, the 10 commandments. We try to follow the dietary guidelines, celebrate the feasts, what clothing to wear, etc. There are so many more things that we still need to learn, but God sees your heart, and even if you attempt to follow a few things, this is a great show of obedience!

Gender Equality

We believe all mankind was created in the image of God. We believe in two genders (Man and Women) and that there is no way to change your identity in Christ.

We believe there are no differences between men and women in the Church, only that each group has unique strengths specific to that gender. No gender is better than the other. We welcome women pastors, leaders, and prophets (Like Deborah, Miriam & Esther).

We believe the only hierarchical structure involving a man and a woman is within a marriage context, as this was Eve's eternal punishment for sinning in the Garden of Eden.

In addition, we also embody our own trinity - Spirit, Soul & Body, just like the God we are made in the image of.

Do You Believe in Tithing?

We fully support tithing, as well as ALL forms of giving laid out in the Bible.

  • Tithing = 10% of net income (What's in your hand, pay your taxes truthfully).
  • Offerings = Anything above your tithe. We will often refer to this as sowing seeds.
  • Firstfruits = The first of any kind of increase. This can be crops, bonuses, a first business sale, first rental income, etc. This giving can vary, but we consider it to be around 2.5% of a year's wage, or the first of anything new (E.g. the entire amount of a first rental income), whichever you prefer.

We practice all 3 kinds in this Church.

These forms of giving were done before the Law, during the Law, and after the Law. The Bible teaches us to honour God with our possessions.

Pro 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;

We also believe in giving cheerfully & believe God does not want us to be poor, as one of your mandates is to give to the poor. You cannot fulfil this if you are poor yourself!

Psa 37:25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.,

Do You Believe In Baptism?

Yes, we believe in both water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. There is a Biblical model for both baptisms, both in the Old and New Testament.

Do You Believe in Christening or Confirmation?

These acts are fine, but are not in the Bible and should not be used as a replacement for water baptism or baptism of the Holy Spirit. However, dedicating a child to God and dedicating your life through confirmation are both good things.

Do You Believe In Communion?

Yes, we fully believe in the act of Holy Communion and believe it represents an act of covenant given by the Lord. We believe this is only for believers, andnon-believers should never take communion as it will bring judgment on them.

1Co 11:29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.

The wine represents the blood of Jesus that washes us clean, and the bread His broken body.

Do You Believe in Speaking in Tongues

Yes, we believe speaking in tongues is normal, accepted, and the best way to pray. This is often a great sign that you are baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Act 2:4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Tongues can be heavenly languages or earthly ones. Tongues should not be spoken in a Church setting unless they edify the congregation.

Do You Believe In The Non-Canonical Biblical Texts?

We have read many extra-biblical texts, such as the Book of Jubilees, Enoch, Jasher, etc. We believe these are fine to read, provided you are grounded in scripture and have thoroughly read through the Bible already. These texts are all referenced in the Bible itself. In addition, we often read Jewish commentaries on various topics to understand the Old Testament even more.

While we have never done a teaching on these extra-biblical texts, it is something we would consider if there is interest. Reach out through the contact form if you want us to write about it.

What Are Your Thoughts on Israel

Many Christians believe that the Israel of today is not the one of the Bible. A similar thought is that the Church has replaced Israel. Both of these fall into 'Replacement Theology'. We do NOT believe in replacement theology, and stand fully with the land and people of Israel. The people of Israel have their own covenant with God, and you would be ignoring a lot of prophecies still to come if you believe in Replacement Theology.

This does not mean we always agree with the decisions of the government of Israel, but we are called to stand and pray for the land (Just like you can disagree with your own government, but you must still stand with your country).
